Narrative: This is a new 1-story hospital facility that is designed on a hillside property to be a critical access hospital, providing services that are appropriate for an outlying community like Corry, PA. This facility provides various healthcare units, including a 20-bed inpatient wing, surgery suite, imaging suite, trauma department, rehabilitation, various treatment stations, testing laboratory, cafeteria, administrative suite, training areas, community board room and all the appropriate support spaces. Many sustainable design methods were used in this facility, including raingardens, various stormwater retention areas, abundance of daylight to the interior, an interior courtyard, backlit artwork in the patient rooms, sustainable interior finishes, and custom prefabricated patient room modules.
